"Bound For The Floor" by Local H, from the album As Good As Dead.
tabbed out by Jon (jon@cybercomm.net) any questions/comments welcome. I'm
pretty new at this (as well as guitar), it's my first real tab.. so,
constructive criticism is very welcome!
TAB KEY: - = down picking
^ = up picking
x = mute
TAB NOTES: this is pretty easy, power chords, power chords,
power chords=) the rythm is pretty simple, i've put spaces in
where pauses should be. you need a tiny bit of an ear for
this one, 'cause the rythm is kinda wierd. there is a verse
and a chorus, the chorus is the same, with a different rythm.

Here is my rendition of Local H's great song "Bound For the Floor" from the
album As Good As Dead. If you dont have it......get it.
The basic pattern here is this: G#5 B5 F#5 C#5
4 x
2 x
6 2
4 4
6 4
4 6
x 4
3 6
x x
x x
x x
x x
It's pretty much the same throughout the whole song. I would list the bass
lines too but since the guitar has bass pickups in it, I guess I've already
listed them. I have no idea if this is right but I'm the only one who's done
this song so there.

so here is what I think it goes like.

have fun trying yourself.

To the archivist: A file for this song exists in OLGA, but it is very
incomplete. I didn't take anything from the existing file, as I had the song
figured out before I looked at it. Thus this file is all my own work.
Bound For The Floor
>From the album _Good As Dead_

The main riff is tricky because the guitarist has a bass pickup on his guitar
and runs it through a bass amp, so he's playing the bass part at the same
time as the riff. Strictly speaking, I think the riff is just a Bb played
over and over, but I play it as follows and it sounds pretty good:
main riff: Bb - Bb/B bass - Bb - Bbm
hammer on and off the bass A string to create the rhythm of the riff:
chord: Bb Bb/B
A string: |-------1----1-----1---1--2----0--2---2-2---
You just don't get it keep it copacetic
chord: Bb Bbm
A string: |-2-0---1-----1----1----1------1----0----1----1--1--
You learn to accept it you know it's so pathetic
MAIN RIFF:
Born to be down
I've learned all my lessons before now
Born to be down
I think you'll get used to it
(2X)
And you just don't get it
keep it copacetic
You learn to accept it
you know it's so pathetic
Eb B
and you don't...
Gb Db
and you don't...
Eb B
and you don't...
Gb Db
and you don't...
MAIN RIFF:
Born to be down
I think that I've said this before now
Born to be down
What good is confidence
(2X)
And you just don't get it
keep it copacetic
You learn to accept it
you know it's so pathetic
and you don't...
and you don't...

LYRICS:
Born to be down.
I've learned all my lessons before now.
Born to be down.
I think you'll get use to it.
And you just don't get it,
You keep become a cynic.
And you learn to accept it,
No, you're so pathetic. (x2)
And you don't. And you don't.
And you don't. And you don't.
Born to be down.
I think that I've said this before now.
Born to be down.
What could this confidence.
And you just don't get it.
You keep become a cynic.
And you learn to accept it.
No, you're so pathetic. (X2)
And you don't. And you don't.
And you don't. And you don't.
This is my interpretation of one of my favorite song. I like this one
because it kicks ass. E-mail me at tsanti2@uic.edu or ZeR033@juno.com for
some corrections/additions etc. Rock on.
