Written by NOEL GALLAGHER Tabbed out by JUSTIN KUNZ E-mail me at KUNJUST@LYCOMING.EDU Oasis is getting up there as one of my favorite bands, if not already. This video is amazing, and what is even more amazing (and better too!) is that they (meaning the editors, not Oasis) didn't cut any of it out. Although there are a bunch of different riffs to remember, I find locating proper ocean noise for the beginning is the toughest part of the song. I figured I might as well do the whole thing because I love the song so much. The only real tab of this is under the Morning Glory album thing, and it isn't too extensive. Ok here we go. LIST O' COMMANDS ~= let ring []= around number denotes harmonics hb= half bend b= full bend h= hammer on p= pick off s= slide stf= slide to fade... slide back down the fret as you let the sound fade e ------------------------------------------------------------------- B ----------[12]-------10~-------10hb-------------10-12-10---10------ G ------9~---------9h11~----9-11------9h11p9--9-11---------11--9----- D -9s11-------------------------------------------------------------- A ------------------------------------------------------------------- E ------------------------------------------------------------------- 0:03 0:07 e ------------------------------------------------------------------- B -----10------10--10h12p10--------10-----10-----10~----------------- G -9-11----9-11------------11--9-11---9-11---9-11---9stf------------ D ------------------------------------------------------------7----7- A ---------------------------------------------------------7h9--7h9-- E ------------------------------------------------------------------- 0:14 0:21 e ------------------------------------------------------------------- B ------10-----10~--------------------------------------------------- G --9-11---9-11----9stf----------------9~-----9~--------------------- D ---------------------------7-----9s11---11s9---7~~~~--------------- A ------------------------7h9---------------------------------------- E ------------------------------------------------------------------- OK TAKE NOTE OF THIS: they love to do these little fills here and there: B -------10--- G --9-11------ X3 It's the 9-11-10 thing they use in those above lead parts. They toss some of those fills in at 0:43, 0:57, and 1:09. The only difference is they don't fade like they did in the beginning. A How many special people change? G How many lives are living strange? F#m E Where were you while we were getting high? A Slowly walking down the hall G Faster than a cannonball F#m E Where were you while we were getting high? A Some day you will find me G Caught beneath a landslide F#m E In a champagne supernova in the sky A Some day you will find me G Caught beneath a landslide F#m E A In a champage supernova, a champage supernova in the sky (Play that riff over this) e ------------------------------------------------------------------ B --------------11-------------------------------------------------- G -9h11p9---9-10---9h11~p9----------------------9~~~---------------- D ------------------------------7--7h9p9---------------------------- A ---------------------------7-9----------9-7----------------------- E ------------------------------------------------------------------ (1:23) A Wake up the dawn and ask me why G A dreamer dreams she never dies F#m E Wipe that tear away now from your eye A Slowly walking down the hall G Faster than a cannonball F#m E Where you while we were getting high? A Some day you will find me G Caught beneath a landslide F#m E In a champagne supernova in the sky A Some day you will find me G Caught beneath a landslide F#m E A In a champagne supernova, a champagne supernova in the sky G A Cos people believe, that they're gonna get away from the summer G But you and I, we live and die D/F# E The world's still spinning round, We don't know why, why, why.... (Play this over the beginning chords) e -------------------------------------------------------------- B -12b-10--10------------10-12-12b-10--10-----------10-12-12b--- G -------11--11------9-11------------11--11-----9-11------------ D --------------9-11-----------------------9-11----------------- A -------------------------------------------------------------- E -------------------------------------------------------------- (3:05) e ------------------------------12~--------------- B -10--10------------10-12-12s14~----------------- G ---11--11-----9-11------------------------------ D ----------9-11---------------------------------- A ------------------------------------------------ E ------------------------------------------------ NOTE: The second verse uses this little thing instead of the 9-11-10 riff from above. Just listen to the CD, they toss in one of these two riffs every so often like they did with the 9-11-10: D -----7-- AND G -------9-----9-- A -7-9---- D --9s11---11s9--- A How many special people change? G How many lives are living strange? F#m E Where were you while we were getting high? A Slowly walking down the hall G Faster than a cannonball F#m E Where were you while we were getting high? A Some day you will find me G Caught beneath the landslide F#m E In a champagne supernova in the sky A Some day you will find me G Caught beneath the landslide F#m E A In a champagne supernova, a champagne supernova in the sky G A Cos people believe that they're gonna get away from the summer G But you and I, we live and die D#/F E The world's still spinning round, we don't know why, why, why.... (Then over the bridge, the chords and counts go like this:) A A G G D/F# D/F# F G A A G G D/F# D/F# F G A A G G D/F# D/F# F G A A G G D/F# D/F# F G F G F G A A G G F#m F#m.......(then you are back into that beginning riff) (If you think I'm gonna tab the 4 or 5 guitars over that noise/distortion bridge, you wrong) A How many special people change? G How many lives are living strange? F#m E Where were you while we were getting high? A We were getting high? G We were getting high? F#m We were getting high? E We were getting high? A We were getting high? G We were getting high? F#m We were getting high? E We were getting high? A We were getting high (to fade out) e ----------------------------------------------------------------- B ----------------------------------------------------------------- G ----------------------------------------------------------------- D -9b--7-----7-7---9b--7--7-9-7-7--9b~~~(hold)--9~~~(release)-7---- A -------7-9------------------------------------------------------- E ----------------------------------------------------------------- (6:45) e ------------------------------------------------------------- B ------------------------------------------------------------- G ------------------------------------------------------------- D --7-----7~-------------------------------9b~~~~~~-------------- A ----7-9---7~-9-7---------7h9-----7h9~------------------------- E ------------------------------------------------------------- (7:02) (7:09) (7:12) (7:16) Play little drummer boy, finish up the song, then tell me what you think: I'm Justin Kunz!
