Subject: TAB: The Beautiful People by Marilyn Manson
Artist: Marilyn Manson
Song: "The Beautiful People" from their album
"Antichrist Superstar"
Tabbed By: Christopher Rae
This song is REALLY easy (which is why I am able to tab it out). The whole
song is in drop-D tuning. Keyboard parts are also here too (because finding
keyboard parts is so hard on the net)...
First comes that weird synthy noise, and then the military-style drums.
[CHUGA-CHUGA PART] which is palm muted [guitar & bass]
E ---------------------
B ---------------------
G ---------------------
d 11111---11111---
A 11111---11111---
D 11111---11111--- [Repeat this 4X)
...then break into this [guitar & bass]
E --------------------------------
B --------------------------------
G --------------------------------
d 0-3-0---0-3-0---0-3-0---0-3-0---
A 0-3-0---0-3-0---0-3-0---0-3-0---
D 0-3-0---0-3-0---0-3-0---0-3-0---
...and here comes the riff we all love... [guitar & bass]
E ----------------------------------
B ----------------------------------
G ----------------------------------
d 0-6-0-6-0-0-6-0----0-6-0-6-0-0-3-0
A 0-6-0-6-0-0-6-0----0-6-0-6-0-0-3-0
D 0-6-0-6-0-0-6-0----0-6-0-6-0-0-3-0
...during the verse, the bass continues
D 0-6-0-6-0-0-6-0----0-6-0-6-0-0-3-0
...and the guitar does that chuga-chuga part again...
E ---------------------
B ---------------------
G ---------------------
d 11111---11111---
A 11111---11111---
D 11111---11111---
...then we get to the even easier keyboard part which goes
like this: (PS: Make sure you have it set on an ethereal
chorusy-voice. I use the Korg X5D and found that the preset
"The Singers" works the best and actually sounds as close to
the sound Manson uses than any other keyboard I've played with)
[X(Y) Where X is the note and Y is the octave]
[Read from left to right and then down to the next line]
D(2) - D(3) - D(2) - D(3) - D(2) - D(3)
C#(2) - C#(3) - C#(2) - C#(3) - C#(2) - C#(3)
C(2) - C(3) - C(2) - C(3) - C(2) - C(3)
C#(2) - C#(3) - C#(2) - C#(3) - C#(2) - C#(3)
...and then it breaks back into the riff for the chorus
(Please go insane here. Feel free to knock shit over and
jump around):
[CHORUS]
E ----------------------------------
B ----------------------------------
G ----------------------------------
d 0-6-0-6-0-0-6-0----0-6-0-6-0-0-3-0
A 0-6-0-6-0-0-6-0----0-6-0-6-0-0-3-0
D 0-6-0-6-0-0-6-0----0-6-0-6-0-0-3-0
...during that part when Reverend Manson whispers "beautiful people"
there's a guitar part which goes like this which is slightly palm muted on
the first three notes:
[POST-CHORUS]
E -----------
B -----------
G -----------
d 0-0-0-3-0
A 0-0-0-3-0
D 0-0-0-3-0
...as the song reaches the end, the chorus riff changes slightly to the
following:
E -----------------------------------------
B -----------------------------------------
G -----------------------------------------
d 0-6-0-6-0-0-6-0----0-6-0-6-0-0-3-0
A 0-6-0-6-0-0-6-0----0-6-0-6-0-0-3-0
D 0-6-0-6-0-0-6-0----0-6-0-6-5-4-0
Hope you enjoy it!
